If you've never heard of Spinel before, you're not alone.  Spinel is a natural gemstone that is found in many colors and has a hardness of 8 which makes it suitable for any piece of jewelry.  The most famous Spinel is a red Spinel that is in one of the British Crown Jewels, believed for decades to be a ruby.  What the camera can't capture about this necklace is the shimmer and shine that reflects off each bead as it catches the light.  Two strands of faceted Black Spinel beads hang together with a 14kt gold double oval clasp which you could attach a pendant to and wear in the front.
